Thursday, November 6th, 2003

NightSky Friday: Coming Nov. 8: Second Total Lunar Eclipse of 2003 - Well we get another shot at this. The hours are more reasonable too.

So everyone go outside and watch the moon go to the dark side (Don’t worry. It comes back :-))

The site in the link has all the time tables for each phase and for each timezone. Enjoy!!

20 Questions

Wednesday, October 1st, 2003

TooMuchSexy.blog - Too much is not enough - First of all, I like the layout on this weblog. I haven’t had too much time to take a deep gander yet, but I like the few entries I have read. The title of the weblog rocks :-).

Anyway, I came across this 20 questions thing at his weblog. This is pretty spiffy. I gave this a whirl after reading it. I was thinking “table” and it got “desk.” Close enough for government work.

Oops, sorry. Apparently, I caused a duplicate trackback on toomuchsexy.org

Happy Bday Wil!

WIL WHEATON DOT NET: Happy Birthday To Me! - It’s a bit late, but I don’t read WWdN everyday, so Happy Belated Birthday, Wil !

For those that haven’t read his site, he writes in a very entertaining way. It’s kinda neat to watch his life unfold after seeing him on one of my favorite shows (as Wesley Crusher) for so long.

He tends to share his personal life on his site, which is fantastic. Plus, he’s a geek and a very creative one. He’s talked about using linux before and runs a Movable Type weblog.

Movabletype Bookmarklet Fix

Saturday, July 26th, 2003

Fixing the MT bookmarklet for Safari :: The Daily Journey :: JayAllen.org - Very nice. I had farted around with this a number of times since Safari came out of beta. All I could get was the post with no highlighted text added to my entry. Later, I came pretty close using the bookmarklet examples at apple.com, but there were special characters in the resulting text (spaces turned to %20, etc.).

I do hope they put a bookmarklet that works in Safari into Movabletype so this doesn’t have to be done each time.

Excellent job, Jay!!

Yet More Legoes

Friday, July 18th, 2003

The Star Wars Alphabet Project - Another page of legoes. This one has a spaceship for letters in the alphabet. It’s based on Star Wars. The designs are pretty good from the few I have looked at. I can’t wait to find some more time and flip through ‘em all.

Starship Sizes

This has to be one of the coolest sites ever. If your using Internet Explorer you can move the ships around by dragging with your mouse. Pretty neat. Definate geek site :-)!

I like these. I purposely didn’t say what they are. Its more fun to look at the pics and suddenly realize it. This came from a link at Lockergnome.

Happy Camper!

Monday, March 10th, 2003

Finally! I redid my movable type stuff to fix some security issues and then did a few things to tweak the site a bit. Lots of stuff was fixed and changed around. One of the best parts is I now have smileys! :-)
Anywayz, I gotta do my taxes next…all the geek stuff and now the boring stuff. :-( <– sad smiley! heh

test smiley

Tuesday, March 4th, 2003

:-) <- this smiley was generated by a macro plugin for Movable Type.. very nice. I just use the standard : - ) characters and it replaces it with the graphic. Sounds simple, but for some reason movabletype doesn't do that out of the box.

Cool Legoness

This is totally cool. ONYX Lego Beretta 9mm Series 92.

Not only this, but while looking around I found there are CAD type programs for legoes. See the link on the left at the above site. I am guessing that there are models to download all over the net. (I’ll get back to ya on that ;-) )

OMG - What a pain!

Wednesday, August 28th, 2002

Internet Explorer 5.5 seems to be very different from the browsers I was using on Linux. I had to change the style/colors etc. for this site and its still not correct! If the IE window is too small horizontally, the calendar and right menu move to below all the journal entries. It still does it now, but its not as bad. Mozilla doesn’t do this on windows or linux. All well, at least it works for now. YAY
