The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II for Xbox 360 Review
And, yes, the big surprise is that here’s a real-time strategy game that works on a console, and the world didn’t come to an end.
I am very pleasantly surprised. Playing the demo with the tutorial really shows that a console controller can do an RTS game. I didn’t think there was anyway in heck it would work well.
Try the demo before you buy though. It’s very different than a keyboard and mouse. There’s a chance you may not like it (that’s what demos are for.)
Could you purchase a USB keyboard and use it?
The 360 lets you connect a keyboard for certain things.. ie. you can do dashboard things like setup your wireless network SSID and password or send text messages to your friends.
However, the offical keyboard support stops there from what I understand. Anything else is up to each game developer. As far as I know, there are no games (none, not one) that use a keyboard on the 360.
I\’ve never heard anything about mouse support at all.
Lots-o-folks want keyboard and mouse support for first person shooters. Of course the whole reason I got my first xbox was because my shoulder was messed up and using a mouse was bad at the time, so I couldn\’t play games too well. The console controller was great for me.
