Sci Fi Wire — The News Service of the Sci Fi Channel – I do hope it has the style of the first one. The rest of the Batman movies sucked teenie tiny rocks.

I have to imagine that the creators of these things hear the same thing over and over and that they would attempt to create something new and fresh, but to hold onto the part that everyone seemed to enjoy. The darkness and tone of the first movie. The rest had brighter colors and ridiculous lines. Ice dude Arnold? who thought that would be cool – cool pun, huh?!

According to the news clip:

Batman 5 is scheduled for release in 2005.

  1. the new batman stars the american psycho guy. Is directed by the guy who did memento, and the villians, keeping with the two villians teaming up theme so far, should be clayface and scarecrow. scarecrow is a devious little bastard, and clayface has always been cool. they need a darker batman though. clooney was too nice, kilmer was too blonde and too old, keaton was too horrible, hugh jackman maybe would make an interesting bruce wayne

  2. Batman will forever be the peoples superhero. The most down to Earth letting the public know you don’t have to fly or have X-ray vision to kick ass. However the follow-ups to the 1st were awful and could have had so much more to offer. The hardcore, no-nonsense dark-knight of the original needs to be revived. No comedy, no smooth pretenders to Keaton’s throne. I would prefer a teaming up of superheros….like a league if you will. Spiderman, Batman, Superman etc vs Some sinister bad ass bad guys having a running battle in the streets of different cities for domination.

  3. I dont care who the basters in hollwood pick as batman aslongs that Alifed stays the same ands Batans has to be a whole lot darker. I want direct the no mans land film

  4. Have you ever read the graphic novel “Arkham Asylum”? This portrays Batman, as he really is. He is a bad guy fighting a good cause. It shows that in order to know your enemy you must become them. Does no one realise the resemblance between Batman and the Joker. Batman is a murderer. According to graphic novels (which are gospel) Batman has killed numerous people throughout his creation. A sane man would not study ninjitsu, science and slight of hand their whole lives, strictly to battle evil without some horrific back round. The loss of his parents partnered with insanity of the Joker and various other foes have affected him greatly. Without comprehending this, you are not fit to judge the future story lines of the Batman saga. I agree with most of you in that I have no mercy for “Batman Forever” or “Batman & Robin”. In my opinion (whether you want to hear it or not) is that the next Batman movie should be set in the real backdrop of the Batman saga. No I don’t meant Gotham City. I mean Arkham Asylum, where the evil began.

  6. Ok first off Batman and Robin(if you want to add him) are first and foremost detectives. Where is the hiding in shadows, stalking the perp. and the closeing in on the criminal and kicking his ass in order to sudue the criminal till the police show up. Every one has gotten away from that. The whole pre-school image the the last few movies have had were great for everyone under the age of 15 or 16 But it time for the adults who grew up on batman and know more about batman to get what the first batman movie only hinted at. not even Keatons Batman was as dark and methodical as the true comic book Batman and its about time he was.

  7. I’ve never read a lot of the comic books. I’ve seen all the movies, most of the Animated Episodes (including the new ones w/ Nightwing and new character designs). I like the frist 2 movies and i think they have the right feel to but not enough. for one thing they need to get rid of the city they had in the las 2. i would like to see a city that is like ones u see today. no 100 story statues holding up highways and streets that are elavated 500 feet in the air. batmobile should be dark, sleek and simple. the batmobile doesnt need lights coming out of vents, no giant flapping fins, no climbing on walls; they should just keep it simple like the one from the first 2. Bale probaly would of been my first choice of Batman/Bruce Wayne but i might of wanted someonea little younger since its supposed to be about him starting out, of course i dont know how old he is exactly. but one of the best things about this since its Batman starting out there will be no Robin or Batgirl. u know Robin and batgirls outfits could of hide their identitys a little better. and about Robin, his outfit couldnt of been more gay in the old 60s/70s live action show. If it was anymore gay there would of been a zipper on his ass. srry im getting off subject. as for criminals, too bad joker is dead and used cause he was one of the least corniest character in all the movies. Two-Face was just a rip off of him. there should be no enemies w/ abnormal, weird or impossible powers/abilities/weapons. Batman should be ruthless but stoic, brooding, dark, quiet, and kinda of evil and pyscotic (i hope i spelled that right). he should be like the Crow kinda but a little remorseful when he kills. the color or tint or however u would say it should be blue or black (if u dont know whst im talking about than im talking about how in the Matrix movies there are a lot of greens and kinda like a green color to everything almost as if the but a sheet of green over the cameras). Oh, and they better have the same Alfred, unless hes dead. his suit should be like the one from the first movie but without the yellow in the emblem, there shouldnt be grappling hooks all over the suit like in Batman & Robin, i mean where does all the wire come from? o and no yellow period. i also think he shouldnt drive around a lot. it would kinda give it away that hes coming when u hear a load ass engine w/ rocket boosters comin down the alley. and too bad they used Bane in the last film cause he would of been a good baddie in this one. o and why the hell did Batman have his own credit card in the last one? we should drag the guy who put that in there out into the streets and nail him to the road during rush hour. i also think it should be rated R. not because i want to see nudity but because it would be more realistic. when you’re about to kill someone the person isnt gonna say “o darn” or “o gee wizz”, they’re gonna say “o fuck!”. Batman should definatly not be a goody-two-shoes. he should be ravenous, vengeful, and merciless in some cases. im not saying he should kill everyone no matter how the crime but only make the punishment fit. i think that covers it. i know i have no right putting this stuff here because im not a movie critic nor did i major in film. but i feel a lot of ppl here agree w/ me.

Before i go i would like to ask a question for those who saw batman 1 and 3. remember Billy Dee Williams from Star Wars? He played Lando for those 2 ppl out there who didnt know that. Anyways he played Harvey Dent, the guy who later became two-face. Well how can Dent be black in Batman 1 and a white old guy in 3. dont get me wrong Tommy Lee Jones played a great Two-Face but he was Black before and now hes white. just wondered if anyone noticed.

  8. I thought Batman Forever was the best Batman movie. You guys are a bunch of morons.

  9. I haven’t read all of the Batman comics, but i remember waking up every Saturday morning hoping to god i hadn’t missed Batman. And to agree with everyone else, i think Batman should have a dark knight feel to him. Brucee Wayne’s whole purpose of becoming Batman was to seek revenge for his parents’ death. Now nobody in their right mind can tell me that revenge does not come from the evil, or darkness from within one’s self! And what ever happened to the villains of the animated series: the Croc, Clayface, Man Bat. Whatever happened with Harley Quinn. We need original characters back again. And who says the Joker can’t return for another movie. The Joker ALWAYS survives somehow. All you really need is a good story line to explain how he managed to get away, and why he has taken so long to resurface.

One more thing, i believe it would be very wise to end the Batman movies with this one, ,but it had better be a damn good one.

  10. I am not even sure if anyone is going to read these comments, but I feel compelled to write them nonetheless.

First off let me say that the first two movies were obviously the only non-disappointments in the entire saga. With that being said, lets discuss why they weren’t “as bad” as they could have been.

While I must say that while Michael Keaton is so far the best Batman, he still missed the bar in my opinion. Several factors were completely disregarded when choosing the character of Batman/Bruce Wayne. It is understood by Batman maniacs that Bruce Wayne subjected himself to years and years of training and personal anguish to achieve the upper most levels of both mental and physical perfection. He achieved the status of superhero while all the while not possessing any of the mystical and in my opinion non-believable aspects of all other superheros. Now, keeping that in mind, the depiction of a 6 foot, 180-200 pound Keaton is mind boggling. How can a man whos body has been under such stresses of training be that small? I mean I understand the necessity to use a well known actor to appease the crowd and whatnot, but what about the necessity to depict the truth? When I think of Batman, keeping all lithographs and pictures aside, I picture a monster of a man. He would have to be to survive the stress he puts on his body. THere is an Alex Ross depiction of a weary Batman as he takes off his cape and cowl. On his back are the scars from his constant battles. Take one look at that picture and take a look at the size of Batman’s Latissimus Dorsi. Its gigantic, as well it should be. Aside from the physical size being an issue, lets talk about skills. I will continue with the first movie as my specimen for dissection in this case. Batman has trained in how many different fighting styles? In this movie you only see one fight where it looks like he might have a HINT of training, and thats the fight with the guy with the swords. All Batman does is place a few well placed blocks, and then kick the guy in the face. Honestly…there was so much more room for improvement with that scene. Lets talk about the scene in the bell tower with the black guy. He almost loses that fight! All the guy is doing is street fighting him. He was nothing more than a common street fighter….Batman should have had that guy for dinner.

Now…all dissection aside, what would i like to see in the coming movie/s? How many of you Bat fans have read the Knightfall series? Talk about a great idea for a movie! Sure they used Bane in Batman and Robin. But really…what sort of background was given on him? Little to none. Why not re-introduce Bane as we all know him, the kid who grew up in the prison in South America and was the only test subject of Venom to stay alive. The criminal mastermind that sought out Batman and emptied Arkham asylum forcing Batman into a sleepless week of capturing all his old rivals? The same criminal genius who figures out Batmans secret identity and then confronts Batman/Bruce on his own turf. The man who broke Batman. If that idea doesnt intrigue you then you must have the passion of a wet mop. If that doesnt do it for you, then maybe the Jean Paul Valley story of taking on the mantle of the Bat might. Or how through his tortured confusion of the System and reality he begins murdering the criminals of Gotham. Or maybe if that doesnt do it for you, maybe the story of Batman getting healed and training to confront Valley will do it. Or maybe the final showdown between the real Batman and the grotesque futuristic mess that Valley made Batman into will do it.

If not….well I can’t help you because you can hit all the major aspects there. You can explore the dark and tortured nature of not only Bruce, but Jean Paul Valley as well. You can bring into light the fact that Batman is human after all, and that he is not above being beaten. On the same note you get the fight to come back and the huge accomplishment of bouncing back. The Knightfall series has everything that a man needs to make a serious money making movie/s. Batmans reputation is now seriously in jeopardy with terrible scripts with lines like Arnold telling someone to “Chill” while he freezes them, or Batman pulling out a freakin Mastercard and saying “Don’t leave the cave without it”. Thats something that really took all the “Batman” out of those last two movies. No longer was Batman an urban legend. No longer was he as allusive as a bat in the night. No…he shows up to a fund raiser or something equally perposterous. I think that if the Knightfall series was really looked into and well written this could seriously repair a lot if not all of the damage of the last two movies, though that damage is considerable.

Thats my two sense….or 10 bucks is what it looks like when I read it.

And yes…my name really is Bruce Wayne…and I have been called Batman since I was like 5, so yeah I kind of have a personal reason to know as much as possible about my name sake.

  11. okay, u guys r right the last 3 movies sucked, even part one didnt portray the true batman character. but wat ur saying is for batman to be like a punisher character, but if u know batman, u know he cannot take a life. holy, how can u miss that, and keaton is a scrony wimp, u need someone talk, muscular and darker to play batman. and his suit is not rubber, who the hell can move in that, it has to be cloth. basically, the animated series does the best job in illustrating batmans true character, just try to copy that as close as possible.

  12. i think that this new Batman movie has to be a loy like the first movie. it has to be dark and glommy to get the Bat felling.

  13. okay the last three Batman movies sucked and if this movie wants to smash the box office they have to make it like the first movie and thats going to be incredibly difficult.

  14. Honestly, that idiot Joel Schumaccer ruined Batman in the worst way. I do think that his last two installments should be totally disregarded as Batman movies. This new director should just direct his movie like Schumacher never existed. How can anyone mess up Bane the way he did. Then we have 2-face, and then finally Mr. Freeze.

  15. AAAAAALLLLRIGHT! Enough about the fact that the new movie needs to go back to its darkish, gloomy original. Come on people dont you think they already realize that. I mean after 3 big flops youd think they would. Thats not the only thing they need to hit on I think what we need in this next installment is a more serious batman and not one that likes to crack those stupid jokes.
Also if any thing they need to get their acts straight with casting I mean the acting in the last three was just terrible. Of course the plots didnt help either.

  16. I know everyone is iching to see a dark gloomy batman, but how about a guy who doesnt wear a rubber suit so you cant move your neck left and right…thats one aspect that pisses me off…how can the dark night fight guys with swords if he cant move his neck….i really think they should bring bane back and do something where he releases some of the villians in arkham…but i also want to see clayface hes a guy who has abilities to do thing other villians cant…i dont wanna see a corny guy who just uses his henchmen to fight batman i also want to see the actual villians fight. Also if anyone noticed catwoman is still alive…maybe we can see her a few times just for old times sake it would create some sort of tension with that little love duo wayne and kyle have, and batman and catwoman have together

  17. OK if you want to see a good batman movie the first thing you will have to do is get Tim Bertin back as the director or maybe someone even darker like Clive Barker he’s good at showing the darkside of anything he touches. Plus they need to stay on the same script as the comic. They need to kill robin of have sameone more desevering to play him not faggot ass chris O’danel (or however u spell that queers name) they should bring in a more evil bad guy. or just bring the fuckin joker back cus he is the best villain of all time. he needs a new suit that he can actully move in. and that dumm bitch batgirl should just stay out of the movie all together say she left town of somthing. and batman needs to be a lot meaner and angerer. he needs to kill people like he does in the comics not just kick them once and they go fucking flying and never come back. catwomen would also be a good add on. and she needs to get down and dirty with the cape crusider! BLAM! thats what i got to say. Cus i wanna be batman cus everybody aint shit to ME!

  18. I think if DC wants to step up the plate they need to come with a more stronger offerring than a Batman prequel. I am a Batman fan ever since I was kid. The same goes as far as this new Superman movie concept. It has been enough sequels. What I would like to see DC present is JUSTICE LEAGUE movie . I mean look at the success that Marvel Studios is having with their movies;especially X-Men. Then you have spiderman, daredevil, the hulk&Blade. DC has a whole entorage of characters that they can feature.

  19. maybe they ought to consider re-creating bane so batman has an adversary that has actually beaten him. Robin could become Nightwing and Tim Drake could appear. But GET RID of the neon crap as this is too 60′s. revert back to the dark knight as batman was meant to be. Just look at the Knightfall, Knightquest and Knightsend series and portray it into a film…..

  20. Ok ok, i’ve read a couple of these things and all i have to say is that some of you guys are right. Robin SHOULD be gone therefore making Batman alone and isolated. i mean in “Batman & Robin” Clooney plays Bruce/Batman as a socalite person who’s a real people person. If i may point out that in the cartoon justice league, he’s pretty much a loner who prefers to keep to himself. his policy is talk less and get the job done faster. Batman should be a person who doesn’t care how the job gets done just as long as it gets done. there’s always one wonder woman quote that i’ll always remember, “If he(Batman) smiles……….run.

FYI there were THREE robins, Dick grayson was killed by the joker, Drake becomes nightwing and some other kid becomes robin.

  21. I think the two first movies were great and dark. But if you think about it the last two movies were awesome!!Especially the riddler and two face. These are some really cool characters. I thought these last two movies were really good even though they were’nt as dark as in the first two.I think the movie should have dark scenes along with light scenes.

  22. What?

  23. What are you talking about people! the last two movies were great!! Especialy batman forever. I think the next movie should be just like batman forever and batman and robin.I know the first movies were dark and everything but i still think the colorfull colors were a good job in these scenes. The next movie should have dark scenes along with colorful scenes.

  24. Guy’s, guys, wait a minute……Batman is totaly cool in the animated version(especially New Batman), but the Nick’ idea about Batman vs Predator seems a litlle ridiculas to me……

  25. I am heartened to see so much support in favor of the REAL Batman, the Dark Knight of Gotham. Tim Burton had the right idea in the first movie, but fell short of the mark in even his depiction of Batman. And it simply got worse from there. After checking the web, it seems that they have chosen Ra’s Al Ghul and Scarecrow for the villains in this next film. So far, so good. Scarecrow feeds on fear, much as the Batman uses fear, so that should work well in creating the dark and sinister mood for the film. Ra’s Al Ghul is one of the few characters that actually figured out who the Detective really was, and the Lazarus Pit should satisfy those who look to Batman films for nifty special effects. Again, so far it looks good on paper. But the guy they chose to be the Batman does not appear to be much bigger than Michael Keaton, and I heartily agree that the Batman’s PHYSICAL presence is a vitally important component of his OVERALL presence, his intimidation factor, if you will. With any luck, they’ll use strength training on the actor to beef him up a bit, and possibly use some actual martial artists to work with him on fighting style. I will certainly be anxiously awaiting this next installment in the Batman franchise, praying for Divine Intervention to ensure that it doesn’t suck like most of its predecessors. But we’ll just have to wait and see if “five time’s a charm . . .”

Oh, and by the way–Dick Grayson is Nightwing. Jason Todd is the second robin, killed by the Joker in “The Killing Joke.” Tim Drake is Robin now (see the Teen Titans). And if you follow “The Dark Knight Returns” for the future of the Batman saga, Carrie Kelly will be the first female Robin.

One last thought: though the whole Bane/Azrael thing was indeed entertaining, I just don’t like the concept of the Batman actually BROKEN. His indomitable will is what drives this character beyond super-powered oafs in tights, so ANYBODY actually breaking him is a tad hard to believe. Not to mention being a serious let-down for all of us who believe in the Batman character. A sequel to this next film should be, as stated in one of the other posts, centered on the Arkham Asylum story. That, at least, would continue the tales of the Dark Knight, not the campy buffon in a neon (??!!) Batmobile.

  26. Uh, that would be campy BUFFOON in a neon Batmobile, not a compy BUFFON. Never said I could type . . .

  27. Jesus,
Where did you retards come from?!?!?!?!
I heard about a new Batman movie the other day, I heard Michael Cane would be the bulter. I believe we may assume the old crone from the first four movies has passed on.
But back to my point, I come on here looking for information on this, and while I accept the fact that you guys know about as much or less in comparison with what little I know about the new movie, I just can’t believe how pathetic you guys are!
Let me see a raise of hands for those of you who are 40+ but still live in Mommy and Daddy’s basement??? I’m not even going to try and guess a percentage. I might just lose all hope in the human race.
Here’s something for you, get a clue. The movies aren;t made for you fucks. If it were, then the movies would never make any money, because NOONE would go to see them. The comic books survive on you assholes going out and buying multiple copies of every episode and GENRE of batman, robin, combined, batgirl, comics and graphic novels.
Noone else in their right minds GIVES A SHIT about the true form of Batman, they just want a movie they can sit through, and maybe, yes, just maybe, take their KIDS TO! Maybe you jerks don;t get it, but YOU are NOT their market! The kids ARE!
You don;t like it? Make your own “indie” Batman movie. Have a big get-together, watch the movie, and tell each other how much the movie sucked and it didn;’t capture this and it didn;t capture that..blah, blah, blah.
And if you are too damn blind to see that Returns was darker than the original Batman, then you are an ass. Forever wasn’t half bad. Kilmer wasn’t “too blond” he did rather well, and the chances are that the chemistry of the actors themselves was what held the movie together in the first place. No doubt that Nicole Kidman and Jim Carrey were the main reason people went to see it.
As for B + R. If you enjoyed that, you need help. Clooney is no Batman, and Batman is no father.
These are obvious things, Where the hell do you guys get off claiming that Hollywood has any responsibility to YOU? Why in the world SHOULD they draw upon the comics and the novels?
Hey, I got an idea. Most people either never read the comics, or they have long forgotten them by now, you know, they “grew up”. Pull your head out of your ass, and you may do the same some day. But, do you know what they remember? The TV show. There you go, let’s make the new movie JUST like the TV show.
We’ll hire some pussy with a beer belly to play Batman, a faggot that can;t stop checking out Batman’s package to play Robin, we’ll have some diddering old woman play the aunt that has been missing in the movie, and have extremely flamboyant out of work actors play the villians. Won’t that be just wonderful?
    Dave

  28. just my two cents…i only like keaton as batman…i didn’t like the way they combined all three robins’ origin..(dick..circus/todd..stealing the car/drake…discovering who bruce wayne was)and nipples on the suit…c’mon.i even thought armor was a little over the top..but i understand a need for flair.but..NIPPLES ON THE SUIT!?..anyway..in close..i been a fan of Batman for a few decades now..and someone earlier said something to his schitzo behavior…which is true..partially..because in his mind..he doesn’t wear a batman costume..to him he is Batman…Bruce Wayne is the costume he wears…and i would like to see a little of his madness..show just how thin the line is between him and his enemies…maybe a little weakness to highlight his strength…like the great story..which also was like a dark omen of the “Bane” to come…Venom….where the true darkness within him surfaces….because as someone here said..the last movies were campier than the adam west batman…kind’a funny tho..how as an audience we got to kill jason todd off….but our voices aren’t taken into consideration for the big screen…thanks for your two minutes to read my two cents…peace

  29. SPOILER ALERT!!!!
Anyone who thinks the Batman/Predator idea is bad hasn’t seen the short film “Batman: Dead End”

    http://www.theforce.net/theater/shortfilms/batman_deadend/

This is the guy who I think should be directing the Batman movies, and the guy they got to play the part of the Darkwing Detective makes Christian Bale look like just another poncey marketing gimmick. The thing that I do like about Bale is that I feel he will bring the emotional and psychological side of the Batman to life.

    Enjoy.

  30. I think the idea about having robin killed in the beginning and having batman go into a rage. me, myself being a batman fan, wouldn’t want to see him do any bad, all good of course. but to avenge robin’s killer throughout the movie…that would be a great story line

  31. I stumbled across this site after reading KnightFall.
One comment.. Dave,.. this is a discussion group, full of lots of opinions..just opinions. Everyone has em.. Consider Rage Management
counseling. Then check your blood pressure.

  32. I stumbled across this site after reading KnightFall. I enjoyed reading the ideas listed. thanks.

  33. I heard about the new Batman movie from channel surfing on my tv and heard something along the lines that King Kong was possibly going to be in the new Batman movie. Does anyone know what the deal is with that? Batman and King Kong in one movie together sounds a little weird to me.

  34. Batman Dead End was a nice lil clip. Batman vs. Predator is a good idea.

  35. I’ve been reading the Batman comics for years and I thought the first Batman movie was by far a great representation of the comics. I was a little disapointed with Batman Forever, but I was glad to see Robin in the mix, and I anticipated Batman and Robin as a movie from day one. I was EXTREMELY DISAPOINTED by the movie- WAY too excessive, what’s with the color pink?!. I love how Tim Burton’s Batman was almost black and white. It felt like an old 50′s ganster movie at times.
I was relieved to hear that Batman: Year One was being optioned as a movie because, perhaps once they got to year 3, they’d do some justice to the Batman and Robin duo. But that idea of course fell through and now Momento director Nolan is creating a “new vision.” Granted, he’s one of my favorite filmmakers, but I’m worried that it’ll just be another push on a cheesy toyline.

In agreement with “MaD_MoRmoN,” I’ve always imagined the Batman comic series “Knightfall” as the potential to be great movie series.
I hated that they just threw Bane into “Batman and Robin” for kicks. No one introduced to Batman with that movie is going to really know Bane’s purpose as a character.

I see Knightfall as a 3 movie set, like the Lord of the Rings trilogy (Knightfall is in fact, broken up into 3 parts) All the villans (from the Joker to the Riddler) and heros (Nightwing and Azrael) are in the Knightfall series. If the director took the time that they did with Lord of the Rings, they could make it worth while.

Obviously everyone does not know who characters like Nightwing is. If Knightfall was a sucess, they could go back and do a prequel to it, to explain Batman’s origin, as well as Nightwing’s in a 3 part prequel, perhaps based on Batman: Year One. I’m sure they could sell a few toys with that idea.
The most important thing that Warner Brothers should keep in mind is that not everyone that goes to see Batman is a kid. Don’t make the Batman movies into an excessive mess like Batman and Robin. Put the thought of a genuine fan into it, and you will create a masterpiece that we have recently seen in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (a trilogy enjoyed by kids and adults alike)
Does anyone who has read Batman:Knightfall agree with me?

  36. Knight Fall would be a great choice like u said a trilogy. i would love to see azriel make the new costume with the bad ass claws and killing everyone!!!

  37. The first installment of Batman in 1989 was a success with great acting by our beloved actors(Jack and Keaton). Though the rest of the movies quite bluntly all sucked unfortunetly, which enabled little kids to refer to the triumphant and dark character of batman as a saturday morning corny superhero. What I want from the next film, I want the dark corrupted caped crusader we see in the comics.

    Thank you

  38. Bottom line, Batman Alone will not draw the interest of the general populace anymore, no matter how you portray him. With the explosion of
Superhero movies coming all over the place and with Batman striking out three times with his sequels, let’s face it he’s going to need an edge to draw the publics interests back to him. People dont want to see him fighting the same old villians with no powers, just silly gimmicks. That has played out and it would be finacial suicide for somebody to put there money to back a movie like that again. To be honest the batman I think that most people love to see is the one that shows up in the current WB Animated series,
before you start laughing just think about it, this batman is cool, he dosent talk alot, his demeanor is always stoic, He’s brilliant in the way he utilizes his Gear and no matter what he is faced with he always handles it like a champ. I have always felt that batman was never portrayed like a true super hero in the live Action movies, even though he dosent have super powers, he has had extensive training as a Ninja, Samuri, Detective, inventor, escape artist, acrobat, you name it he’s trained for it, I think it was under displayed in his movies, as well as the challenges he should have faced. If you want to make a real batman movie that will out draw even the Spider man movie, DC Comics is going to have to swallow their pride and team up with another character that was featured in a comic book they did a long time ago……BATMAN/PREADETOR, dont laugh!!! This would be a great movie concept..You have the greatest hunter in the universe coming to hunt in the wrong city Gotham!…You can go so many places with that…and with the popularity of the Predator and the BATMAN, think about it two characters from different studios coming together in one movie…look at what Freddy Versus Jason did in the Box office!!! I gaurentee you a BATMAN/PREADETOR movie would be off the charts but it would have to be done correctly.
O.K I’ve talked enough just giving an opinion, thanks for listening.

  39. that was incredibly stupid

  40. I liked the Predator idea :-) ..

Ya know what’s incredibly stupid.. I had to get my DVD to find out to spell Predator!

  41. batman/predator sounds be pants. i heard ages ago they were thinking of batman v superman. now that would be better. alien v predator would be good aswell. in fact there are endless possibilities for versus movies. superman v the flash THE BIG RACE!!.. lara v indy… jaws v flipper v nemo… see what i mean. to sum up my comments just read my first sentence again

  42. I definatly agree that the new batman movie should return to its traditional dark form, tim burton set the bar with excellence and i think it needs to be replenished, CONCEPT: batman saga should continue like the comics , robin needs to become nightwing, enough corny gimics like the previous BATMAN AND ROBIN which id have to say was a disgrace to batman and its fans everywhere,
Does anyone remember CLAYFACE from the series. theres your main villian , a new taste in challenge and an underestimated power. Batmobile needs traditional form, enough bright blue lighting to make it look like a damn space mobile thats stupid, Black armored plated thats all you need, We dont need a new batman movie we need a BATMAN the Dark Knight movie
    thanks for ya time

  43. Psycho twisted batman please.A man forced to wear an outfit at night out of pure schizophrenic rage.I’ve never seen a superhero flic of note and I gave up watching them but if this guy made “requiem” then I’m there.

  44. The cool thing about Batman, was that he was the guy next door, well, you get my point. He wasn’t some sper guy, he just worked really hard and had a purpose…to avenge his parents. Tim Burton did a great job in the first one but left us wanting more. I want to feel like I got my fill when I see these movies. Why not dabble in the origin of Nightwing, without spinning it off. Bring in Tim Drake, The other email about people liking the WB series is right on. Lets see Ki-o-dy Ken come in and give Bruce/Batman a challenge in martial arts and deception. Robin needs a good beating, (he has been getting cocky), lets see Batman really put it on the line with some skilled competition. I would really like to write or direct this type of movie, but everyday working joes don’t always get the chance to be hollywood icons…huh…

  45. You need to get back to the Tim Burton/Michale Keaton connection, The first Batmobile(no flashy stuff like the new one)and KEEP IT DARK!! thanks

  46. I agree that this new Batman film needs a new edge. I loved the first movie, and the second was alright as well… but I couldn’t believe the horrible job they did on the fourth. Since when are Batman and Robin comedians? My personal opinion, I don’t want to hear Batman and Robin TRY to be funny, I want to see them kick some ass!

  47. A great way to start the next film would be to have Robin killed by a villian. That would add an immediate sense of darkenss and seriousness to the film and would hopefully immediately make true fans of the Black Knight forget about the previous 3 movies. Of course, once Robin is killed, Batman has the right to become as vicious and vindictive as the director’s mind can imagine.

They have one more try to get this thing right. If they create another ridiculous and corny movie like the previous episode, the franchise will be lost forever. It’s already seriously damaged.

How about Halle Berry or Jennifer Lopez as Bruce Wayne’s love interest?

  48. I am a huge fan of batman and will admit that it goes downhill after BAtman REturns, though that movie wasnt all that either. That flashy shit the new director of last 2 was horrid and not batman at all. We need the same atmosphere of the first one. We need the dark, cold, phantom like environment. The animated series captures it very well–the new one. That is how batman is supposed to be. As good as that animated series was, i dont know why they stopped making episodes years ago.

  49. Response to comment made by Mark:

I agree, something intense starting off the movie would be great, but I was thinking about something else… In the comics, Robin eventually leaves Batman and becomes Nightwing as he becomes older. I think it would be great if Robin were to leave in the beginning. It would leave a sequel open for his return as Nightwing in a later movie, as well as give Batman his own showing under the spotlight!

  50. i cagree, with everyone, mostly, but however, since a new batman movie hasnt come out in a while, it should help its ratings, and it would do better, if it were like a rated r movie, you know, not pg-13, like spiderman, where you know it wont be gorey, it would portray, the bat as a darker person, say he accidentally kills someone?, and how he lives with it, tat right there is a good idea.

  51. I would like the new Batman to be mean, tough, and unforgiving no apologies to anyone just make people pay the ultimate price for all types of horrible and petty crimes. I want him to have a dark personality where he keeps people guessing and at the edge of their seat with little or no love interests just flashbacks to the one who died when he was younger and any woman that appears to have an interest in him make her have a flaw that he dislikes and he casts her aside. I want him to be Part Mcqueen,”BULLITT”, Eastwood,”High Plains Drifter”,”Dirty Harry”, Bronson,”Deathwish”, but yet appear to be on the outside an upstanding citizen like Steve MGarrett from Hawaii 5-0 and unrelenting as Gene Hackman was in the French Connection. I’m probably asking for too much, I want to walk out of the theatre and Say “WOW”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  52. If I had it my way…

Johnny Depp would be the next Dark Knight. I think it would make a lot of sense. He is in a lot of dark films and Tim Burton Films. Batman is and SHOULD be a dark film and it is a Tim Burton Film…or it used to be. What is the newest addition of the Batman Legend going to be about this time anyway?

  53. If I had it my way…

  54. Even though they RUINED!~!!! the character of Bane in that poor excuse for a movie, the next batman movie they should do is “Knightfall” from the comics which was VERY dark indeed. End it with bats getting his back broken as in the books, than return with the post knightfall plot: Azreal/Batman and that should give the movie series some credibility again. Although I doubt the general public would get the Azreal/Batman thing at all.

  55. I totally agree with everyone thinking the last two movies were shit. I mean we had these really awesome, really deep stories in Batman, and Batman Returns. Michael Keaton totally embodied the two personas of Batman, and Jack Nicklson was killer as the Joker. Hopefully with this new director, by the way Memento was a brilliant piece of film. We can get back to the old school Batman that we all love.

  56. I also have my doubts about the Halle Catwoman, I think Pfeiffer was it for me…

Batman Returns did not suck and was much darker than the first one, also more Burton-esque, which is what I want

Depp, despite his age, still looks young, he is also of the “romantic” appearance,

let’s think a bit more about it shall we…?

  57. the only thing better than a good frank miller year one movie would be a return of the dark knight with clint eastwood as an old tired and and badass batman. robert duvall as an old and bitter gordon and gary oldman as the “reformed joker”… now that would be batman movie….. all directed by david fincher.
