It looks like the movie will be called “Superman Lives.” I kinda like it. Maybe Christopher Reeves will make a cameo. That would rock!

I like the idea of a new Superman movie.I watch the series of the New Adventures of Superman every day on TBS. That’s what I call real drama.The actors are great. I think that Dean Cain should play the role of Superman/Clark Kent and Teri Hatcher should play the role of Lois Lane. Also, I think the other actors should play their respective roles as they did in the series.They were GREAT and they will be GREAT!!!!
i heard that they might make a new superman movie directed by the same guy who directed both the horrible charlies angels movies. I also heard that Asthon Kutchor would play superman. If you ask me thats a discrase to the man of steel. I was excited when i heard they might make a new superman movie but now it wouldnt be worth while seeing.
Dean Cain would rock. I absolutely loved him in the TV show Lois and Clark. I seriously doubt that would ever happen though.

I have read several websites saying it is possible that Ashton Kutcher may play Superman. Are they smoking crack at WB? What are they thinking? My vote goes to Tom Welling from Smallville.
Tom Welling, or Dean Cain should play Superman. If they choose Tom Welling then they should wait awhile then have the movie begin once Clark move to Metropolis and then dons his Blue and Red uniform. There are many interesting ideas, but I read an article recently by Christopher Reeves (At least I believe that it’s by him) saying that Tom Welling was his choise for Superman. Well if thats what Christopher Reeves believes, THATS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!!! No one beats Christopher Reeves as Superman! he’s the best there is bar none!!! And I feel who ever has Christopher Reeves blessing is the right man for the job!! Not to mention Smallville is an Outstanding drama series! And I’d hate to see any thing conflict with it!! I really want that series to continue. With Tom Welling/ Clark Kent becoming Superman ultimately!! And the series continuing on fom Metropolis with pretty much the same cast. This current series promises to take Superman to a new level, it is OUTSTANDING!!!! Lastly even if Tom Welling (or another actor) is chosen to play Superman, I hope that Dean ain is offered a part in the Superman movie, even if the part isn’t Superman. Or maybe he could appear in Smallville as well!
I really enjoy the Smallville series and Tom Welling is the best new Superman to date. If Tom Welling isn’t given the role as superman in the upcoming “Superman Lives”, I think Josh Hartnet would be the next best youngster to undertake the role.

They should be asking what will it be about but come on who doesnt know the story of it by now. everybody loved it when christopher reeve did superman but if they do it with the story line of the t.v. show it will bomb or do it wiht the story line of how he became superman. Why dont they do soemthing like the death and return of superman like when he died and came back and he fought doomsday. I mean that would be a good movie if u took ur time u could even put in the other justice league members who helped him but it would worth the wait rather then rushing and the film bombing. I personally think that if they are to seriously make a new Superman movie, then they should shoot themselves. I mean, I admitt, the originals were cheesy, but they still are classics, and shouldn’t be tampered with. Other than superman, they wanna re-do Batman, wonderwoman, and a whole bunch of classics. Re-making Superman is like stomping on mr Reeve’s grave… Leave the classics alone for f*ck’s sake!!!

I think Tom Welling should get the part as superman. He may not be as well known as “Cage”, but who cares number one superman didn’t have a receding hair line, or a doulbe chin, I mean come on what were they thinking. I also think Dean Cain was the worst superman in my eyes he blow his chance with that garbage series “Lois and Clark.” If Tom Welling or another new coming actor isn’t cast I won’t watch the movie period. I personaly think they should come out with a superman movie that captures his first death “Superman: Doomsday” 2 hrs easy. If Lex steps in I think we all know who should get that part.

Honestly I think that a superman movie is long overdue. With the technology they have now they could make his fight with Doomsday, the wanna-be’s that showed up after his death, and his rebirth awsome. As far as casting is concerned, I’ve heard the talk of Ashton or Josh donning the cape? I took a survey with every family member, business associate and friend that I know. 96 percent says Tom Welling HAS TO play Superman. There can be no substitute. Everyone knows and wants Tom Welling as the new superman. But the question no one is asking is who would be the perfect Lois Lane? The only person who would fit I think is LeeLee Sobieski. She’s graceful yet firey and spirited. Classic Lois Lane qualities.
In terms of the story I would go with the classic superman story. Why mess with a good thing. Then perhaps have the doomsday thing as a sequel (maybe).

I’ve been a Superman fan for years. Since I was like 5. I definately think the wb is going to go with another season or two of smallville and that’s why they haven’t chosen Tom Welling for the movie. If they decide the 4th Season will be the last, then they could put a rush on filming the series to make way for Tom Welling’s move to the big screen. As for John Schnieder and Annette O’Toole, they would be good in the big screen jump as well. As for the rest of the characters in the show, I don’t think they can fill the shoes the big screen characters. Michael Rosenbaum is a great actor but not for the movie. and everyone is already sick of lana. Plus Clark doesn’t really care about Lana in his adult hood. A love once, but he got over it. good choice.
In addition to that, I think you can re-tell the story to an extent, but America doesn’t need to see the same 4 hour telling of superman again. let’s move quick and get Tom on the screen as fast as possible. I am personally sick of the whole Lex Luther thing. They need to follow up with the Superman: Doomsday story and during the second and third movies bring in Lex. I don’t want to see Superman take on a normal person. I want to see punches that make buildings shake and windows break. and never, ever change the red and blue suit.

As for a Superman movie based on Smallville that may be a good idea but I would think that as popular as the show is they would try to do a new series! Hummmm! I was attracted to superman comics not only for the story, but because the man was powerful and built. I always wanted to be like him, muscular ripped and cut. superman has to be at least 6’5″
with broad shoulder and a thick-ass neck. reeves was good. but needed to be more ripped. there has to be an actor who is part bodybuilder to play superman. i hate seeing 100lb weaklings play the man of steel. and batman. welling may be a good actor, but thats it! he just doesnt have that chiseled out of stone look like reeves sort of did. im looking a muscle and fitness dude to step up to the plate, take acting lessons and really look good on screen.

If anyone plays Superman, it should, as everyone who has any sense has said, be Tom Welling as Superman. I’ve liked Superman since I was 2 years old, and Tom Welling knows how Clark is supposed to act, the sense of justice, and the use of the powers. Being a fan, if Ashton, or some other loser plays Superman, I’ll just save my money and not see it. If Dean Cain plays Supes, I’ll see it. Like other heroes such as Spiderman, Hulk and other super heroes movies that were filmed from the beginning with new actors and new story, I suggest that Superman could start from the beginning as a new story.

I remember a “group shot” in one of the comics showing most of the Justice League and Superman, with him being half a head taller than everyone except for the Martian Manhunter. That picture epitomises the character for me.
Seriously, he comes from a race that spent thousands of years evolving in an incredibly hostile environment, then spent thousands of years in genetic research on themselves! Whoever plays him should be big, well built and reasonably mature.
it would be nice to see more if they pick tom welling as the new guy in suit for the role of the newly born superman.
i was very disappointed because they didnt even think to make a movie that today is the day to make a very good kind of sci-fi movies coz of such technologies that can make a brilliant effects on the big screen.

Ashton Kucther is no superman. C’mon they would have to use CGI muscles or something he’s skinny as hell. The guy from smallville would be ok but I don’t know who would really fit the part.
Tom Welling is the number one choice for Superman!! Then next to him maybe Victor Webster, or Jery O’Connell. I heard something about Weling if he played Superman after th Smallville series ended. forget that the Smallvile series is too good to end!! But the movie with Welling as Superman could be the beginning of his career as Superman, when he dons the Blue and ed costome. Then the series should continue with Superman in Metropolis. The series would probally have to have a name change then. But it’s too good to end!!! Welling isn’t he roughly the age that Christopher Reeve was when he played Superman, years ago?!? If so he’d definately be an excellent choice!! The other two Webster or O’connel would probally do okay as well. O’connell sure put alot of feeling into his acting in Sliders, the same as would go well in the upcoming Superman movie. And forget the Superman/ Doomsday battle. Lets have a sinister alien like Darkseid seeking to take over the earth and Darkseid ( the producers will know who I am speaking of) sends his freak show wierdos to take over the earth (I guess in this movie Doomsday could be one of Darkseids cohorts) So Superman must battle Kaliback, Mantis, Asteroids being hurtledtoward the Earth, all the forces of Apocalypse an armada of alien star ships. Pull out the stops show the world why he is called SUPERMAN, let him battle all of this without the so called “Justice League” or even Supergirl ( Although that’d be a good movie ot T.V. show as well). Superman versus Darkseid. At one point in themovie Superman could be in a titantic battle with the Lord of Apocalypse. Darkseid and his Omega Beams versus Superman’s Heat Vision. That would be a battle that would make “Doomsday” pale by comparison. Doomsday is dumb has no sinister intelligence behind him. But Darkseid is too scary!! He’s the one for the movie!! Oh, and forget the Lois Lane part for this new movie this time Supes girl friend should be Lana Lang! And maybe lex Luthor assists Supes in defeating Darkseid with his technolodgy and resources.
This movie got scrapped, as noone could agree on much of anything in pre-production. Most of the actors backed out because the role will most likely stereotype any who take it as superman for the rest of their life, {see Cristopher Reeve}. It is still a viable movie idea, but don’t expect it anytime soon.
The best possible solution is that when Smallville has run its course – Miles and Gough take their format and crew and make the new Superman Movie- Continuity for all adoring Superman fans.

I personally think that David Chappelle or Chris Rock should play the role of Superman. Beyonce as Lois Lane. Rick James as Lex Luther. Ben Stiller as Jimmy. Anthony Hopkins as Supermans father. Ben Stiller’s dad as Perry White.
I think that Tom Welling has the look of Superman, but, there would be too much association with “Smallville.” “Smallville” went on its own path with the story of Clark Kent. The show is excellent, and I think that they did a terrific job with the story of Clark. I read in a past interview that Tom Welling doesn’t want to play Superman in the movies. He has already been offered the part and he doesn’t want. Also, he says that he wouldn’t continue doing “Smallville” if it went into college years or if Clark left home. Tom Welling doesn’t want to be labled as “The New Superman.” The actor that needs to play Superman definitely needs to be someone that most people have never heard of. The story for the movie should follow the comics with Superman’s death. They want a trilogy, that’s simple. Movie 1: Superman meets and is killed by Doomsday; Movie 2: The Superman wannabes appear and run their mock; Movie 3: Superman comes back from the dead, and mops the floor with Doomsday. If they follow the comic books as a story board then they would have their trilogy. But, I have heard rumors that they plan to start the whole thing over. Remake the original and then do two new sequels after that. If they don’t put a lot of planning into this then they are going to screw it up royally.

I think they should either get Julian McMahon to play Superman or David Boreanaz since Angel is ending. I think they would be able to live up to it. Otherwise they should just wait until Smallville is over and go with Tom Welling. He is the only one I think that lives up to the Christopher Reeves portrayal of Superman. Just my comments though.
I’ve read through the threads and here is my opinion. Tom Welling would be good but if Victor Webster can act, he would be a better fit to the Superman image. As for a possible Lex, I think Bill Zane is a good actor and plays the crazy guy pretty darn well…maybe too crazy for the calm-cool-collected-craziness of Lex. I also agree that Lex is played out on the big screen. Not that I wouldn’t enjoy another SM/Lex showdown….that is Reeves territory. Bring in a new villian.
Superman II was by far the coolest Superman of all time! Remember the RUMBLE in the streets? Give Superman a couple of superhuman villians to contend with again and make them believably intimidating.

I think Colin Farrel could play superman. But I like the voice from the American Express movies. Anyone but Kutcher. I really hope there is a movie and soon. I like spiderman but Superman is king. It would be awesome to see a movie with the movie tech we now have
i have seem a date for the New superman sumetime in the summer of 2006? may to june time frame…
what i see that have the STAN WINSTON doing the new gear….one role that i hears that is set for sure is johnny dep as LEX…But no one for the role as sups’ as yet…and this infor is about 3 months old i have looked for wks for stuff..i agree they need someone that looks like TOM WELLIN AND MICHEAL ROSEBUAM…but this going to be hard to find i think…i know as right now the smallville clert/superman on the seasons end show…goes in what they call the dark period of superman life there never any time period put on this in the all the stories of him…so whos to say that story doesn’t jump a few year on the show…not sure on that but just something i been thinkin about…..but as we all know there is a need/want for a NEW SUPERMAN moive and smallville is the best thing that could every happen to us sups’ lovers….

The idea of Nick Cage playing Superman never did go down well with me,i just couldn’t picture it.And Ashton Kutchner come on people.Personally for me every other super hero movie that has come out in the past five years has been as disappointment.The only one that did it for me was Blade, X-men made wolverine look like a sissuy compared to who he is in the cartoon and the comics,they made Rouge a child which is totally wrong.As for Hulk their first mistake was bringing in Ang Lee to direct the movie. sPIDER MAN, THE GRAPHICS AND EFX WERE GOOD AND ALL BUT gOBLIN JUST LOOKED LIKE AN OVERSIZED ACTION FIGURE,
